MY Swim to Sport

Encouraging participation of Multicultural Youth in local water-sports

MY Swim to Sport, funded by the Healthy Tasmania Community Innovations Grants, is partnering with From Zero to Hero Swim Instructor Nadia Azizabadi to support young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds learn to swim and become involved in water-sports and local swimming clubs.

MY Swim to Sport helps young people to:

  • Learn how to swim
  • Refine their swimming skills
  • Start a new sport.

All skill levels are welcome. Nadia will assess each person’s skill level and build an individualised program.


Where: The Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre

When: Friday’s

Men: 12-1pm

Women’s classes 10:30-11:30am 

Next intake: Mid September 2018

A key element of the MY Swim to Sport program is offering advice and specialised training to swimming and sporting clubs to build cultural competency. If there are any sporting clubs or groups who would like to be involved in this program, they are encouraged to contact Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania.
